Roses Bought With Pennies

1:30 in the morning
I bought a rose for you
I tied a note to it
That said just what I’ll do

Keep this rose
And I’m gone for ever more
Bring it back to me
And I guess we’ll see
What we can be

Roses bought with pennies
That’s all I have to spend
In the early morning
Before the day begins
Creeping up your drive
Blinded by the porch light
The cold air freezes my vines
I hope you’re warm tonight

There is a place
That I go too often
A place in side my head
Where I’m lying in my coffin

I want to leave
This world so much
Because I’m nothing here
With out your
Gentle touch

Roses bought with pennies
That’s all I have to spend
In the early morning
Before the day begins
Creeping up your drive
Blinded by the porch light
The cold air freezes my vines
I hope you’re warm tonight

Have the petals wilted
Is it black and dead?
Do you regret your choice
Do you regret the things you said?

Well this is the last stand (x3)

5-9-16-23
The dates that meant so much to me
I’ll bet you have know idea at all (at all)
But it doesn’t matter now – I got through it all somehow I survive the fall

Roses bought with pennies
That’s all I have to spend
In the early morning
Before the day begins
Creeping up your drive
Blinded by the porch light
Staring at your window
Your hearts as cold as ice.
